What is TRUE leadership? What does it mean to be a leader?

Here’s what YOU can do to be a better leader.

The simple answer, I’ve come up with is this: TRUE leadership is empowering others to create their own success

When you think about it, if you want to be a great leader, you need to measure yourself based on how much of an IMPACT you’ve created in other people’s lives — who did you help, what will you be remembered for, who did you inspire?

Only confident leaders give power to others. Being a leader is not about keeping yourself above everyone else, making a spotlight for yourself. It’s about enriching and empowering others, the ones around you.

The number one enemy of empowerment is the fear of losing what we have. It’s the limiting factor to your overall success. Many people reading this will say “But Kamron, I am actively empowering my team.” And I would say

Empower and lead, don’t dictate and boss orders

You don’t empower people by telling them what to do, and dictating tasks. You empower them by saying, “this is the impact I need and want you to make on the business. And if you’re able to create the necessary impact on the business, then I will ensure that we do every thing possible to create the same impact on your personal, professional, and financial goals

By doing that, you’re aligning your team. You’re making sure your people are aware of your goals, the mission, and vision, and are doing everything THEY can do not only achieve those but also conquer their own aspirations at the same time. The good leader doesn’t look to have the biggest house while the team is stuck in shacks, a good leader creates a vehicle to allow the entire team to have the nicest homes in the city

What is the TRUE test of leadership?

Those who CAN do it, can show others how they did it, the steps they took, and how they were able to do it in order to create a more impactful result.

A remarkable leader is being an influential leader, to be that living example for your team. A title within your organization alone gives you no power. It only represents your ability to either influence through your experiences and your actual intentionality with your team, or through title dictatorship.

Influence is saying, ”Do it because I am going to help you attain a higher level of success, to get to where I’m at and beyond.” That’s influence.
