$75,000 A Year, Is It Enough?

HOW MUCH DO YOU TRULY NEED TO BE HAPPY?

Gary V said recently that young people should strive to make 70k, not millions in order to be happy. Studies show the more people make above $75,000, the more they feel their life is changing for the better out as a whole — but it doesn’t make them any more excited about each day when the wake up.

Would 75K make you cheerful?

(Note the definition of cheerful: noticeably happy and optimistic)

The truth is, it’s hard to be cheerful when you’re constantly stressed about money.

Stressing about bills and money bring fights with your spouse, feelings of uncertainty because you can’t pay for things you want to give your family, and the reality of being trapped, a financial slave shackled by the paycheck-to-paycheck life.

With the cost of living being $85,000 a year as an average anything under 75K leaves you with no leftovers. Even at 75K though, does that really satisfy? Russia just invaded Ukraine, would 75k give you the ability to protect your family in the midst of a world war?

75K to 100K gives you just enough to NOT be content.

Who wants to clip coupons and pinch pennies?

My advice: You need much more than 75K, and for all those people who say money doesn’t bring happiness, how would they know?

Most people who tell you money doesn’t bring happiness don’t have money. Or they thought money would solve all of their internal issues. It wont do that, but I would rather live in this hard world with a money than without it.

If I have never traveled to California, and I told you Cali sucks, would you take my word? If I’ve never been to California, what business do I have of telling others about the place?

So, why do people who have middle-class assets give others advice about having wealth? I’ll tell you from experience, not having money won’t make you happy either!

HAPPY WITH YOUR CURRENT FINANCIAL CONDITION?

Don’t ever let anyone tell you money won’t make you happy, especially when they make $75K.

Where are you on happiness in regard to your finances?

75K may or may not make you cheerful. But I’m willing to bet it wont make you any les happy

Go Big,
